Comments on regulations proposed by the Federal Aviation Administration are easily submitted by e-mail via the Department of Transportation's website. First, print this page. Get the docket number and title of the proposed regulation (always given in the announcement of the proposed regulation in the Federal Register). Then access the Document Management Service and go to the on-line form for submitting comments.
(1) Fill out your name, contact information, and address
(2) The docket number is given in the announcement in the Federal Register and is usually something like "FAA-2000-7623".
(3) The operating administration is "FAA"
(4) Docket type is "regulatory"
(5) The docket "does exist"
(6) The document title is the title of the announcement in the Federal Register, such as "Review of Existing Regulations".
(7) Your responses are "not confidential"
(8) Choose either "Enter a Comment" or "Attach a Document". If you have extensive comments, type them into a saved text file before accessing the on-line form, then attach the file to your e-mail submission. The following formats are acceptable in attached files:
